The EU Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR) takes effect on December 30, 2025. This act aims to regulate the environmental attributes of commodities circulating in the EU market, ensuring that specific commodities placed on the EU market or exported to the EU do not involve deforestation and degradation. It covers a wide range of commodities, including beef, wood, cocoa, soybeans, palm oil, coffee, rubber and their derivatives. The core provisions require enterprises to implement traceability management for the raw materials of products entering the EU, with traceability nodes covering up to December 31, 2020.

As an enterprise with an extensive base of direct and indirect customers in the European market, Zhejiang Hengda New Material attaches great importance to the implementation of EUDR.

On the raw material side, Hengda New Material has long imported wood pulp from Finland, Chile, Uruguay and etc.. Its pulp suppliers are also advancing compliance preparations simultaneously, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of EUDR. The suppliers have committed to building a full-chain traceability system to achieve full visual tracking of pulp from raw material procurement to finished product delivery, ensuring that the source of raw materials avoids the risks of deforestation and degradation. At the same time, they are promoting the standardized preparation of DDS documents to meet the strict requirements of the regulations on certification documents.

On the production side, Hengda New Material itself has accumulated profound environmental protection genes and practical experience. As one of the first paper-making enterprises in China to introduce the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification system, it has built a relatively mature product traceability mechanism. On this basis, the company is also systematically promoting the preparation of DDS documents to ensure accurate and efficient traceability of the source of product raw materials, fully complying with the compliance requirements of EUDR.

Against the macro background of global focus on ecological protection and sustainable development, Hengda New Materials has established a close cooperation mechanism with pulp suppliers to actively respond to global environmental regulations. At the same time, the company also looks forward to working together with upstream and downstream customers to empower the global environmental protection cause. It will integrate environmental protection concepts into the entire chain of raw material procurement, production and processing, and product sales, firmly implement the sustainable development strategy, contribute to global forest resource protection and climate crisis mitigation, and work together to create a green and sustainable future.
