On April 22, 2026, Zhejiang Hengda New Material Co., LTD officially released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, marking a crucial step forward in the company’s standardized promotion of sustainable development.

In the report’s foreword, the company’s Chairman stated: “This is the first ESG report compiled and disclosed by the company, but ESG-related practices have long been integrated into Hengda’s daily operations.” In fact, the company has always taken “deep integration of green production and intelligent manufacturing” as its core development line, actively practicing the green concept of “replacing plastic with paper” in the medical and food packaging sectors, and contributing to the circular economy as a corporate citizen.

In recent years, the company has continuously promoted digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing upgrades. At the production execution level, it has fully applied core information systems such as ERP, MES, DCS and WIS, achieving refined management of production and operations. With outstanding practices in digital transformation, Hengda has successively won honors including “Zhejiang Provincial Digital Workshop” and “Zhejiang Provincial Manufacturing ‘Cloud Enterprise’”, demonstrating its leading digital position in the industry. In 2025, its wholly-owned subsidiary Hengchuan New Material was successfully selected into the 2025 Zhejiang Provincial Artificial Intelligence Application Scenarios List and the 2025 Provincial Industrial Internet Platform List.

In terms of energy conservation and consumption reduction, the company has continuously optimized energy efficiency through a series of innovative measures and built a resource-saving production system. It has carried out technological innovations on key equipment such as steam systems and refining links, effectively improving heat exchange efficiency and dewatering efficiency, thereby reducing energy consumption per ton of products. In addition, the company has actively deployed distributed photovoltaic power generation, constructing power plants in phases since 2022, which has achieved remarkable carbon emission reduction benefits and considerable economic benefits.

As one of China’s early specialty paper manufacturers to introduce the FSC certification system, Hengda integrates environmental protection concepts into the entire chain of raw material procurement, production, processing and product sales. It has long imported wood pulp from Finland, Chile, Brazil and other countries, and proactively responded to environmental regulations such as the EUDR. In the second half of 2025, it successfully helped more than ten domestic customers stably enter the EU market.

Taking the first ESG report as a starting point, the company will continue to optimize its management responsibility structure and enhance compliance operation capabilities. In terms of social responsibility, it plans to further deepen governance in employee development, supply chain management and other areas.
